The benefit is two-fold, a, once someone has liked your page you have their contact details so you can promote future gigs/offers to them and b, all the people in their social circle will know they have liked you (called viral exposure)fans tend to mix with people with similar preferences so the word will spread driving more fans to your page and more likes.
