Texas Flood, formed in 2007, is the "Number One" tribute to the Great Stevie Ray Vaughan. The look, the sound, and the emotion that is portrayed on stage gives the audience an opportunity to experience what an SRV and Double Trouble show was like during the peak of their all too short career. Peter Lauda, aka "Petie Ray Vaughan" formulated the idea of creating such a tribute while working as leader and arranger for the Pink Floyd Tribute Band Earthbound Misfits. After auditioning many local musicians to fill the roles of supporting players and working through several incarnations of the group, the current band of players was settled and things really began to happen. The show is comprised of the Mega-Hits with a few of Stevie's personal favorites in order to show the depth of the musicianship and showmanship that Petie Ray and the entire group are capable of. Recreations of the amazing blistering guitar of the Hendrix cover "Voodoo Chile" and the behind-the-back and behind-the-head solos that SRV was famous for, add the WOW factor to put the show in high gear. The finale "Third Stone from the Sun", another Hendrix cover, includes Petie Ray abusing and torturing the Number One guitar just as Stevie himself used to do. Audiences are always amazed and enthralled by the antics and style of this portion of the show. This is a tribute show not to be missed for it's authenticity and true to the original in every way imaginable. |
