LIMELIGHT features some of the Hudson Valley’s top musicians performing some of the most difficult and exciting music ever written: the music of RUSH. Formed in 2002, Limelight has thrilled audiences throughout the United States and Canada with their accurate and energetic performances.
Limelight employs the use of technology to help them more accurately reproduce the sonics that set Rush’s music apart. Sequencing and samplers are used when needed to better present a variety of song selections from the early days of Rush to the present.
In 2009, Limelight was, for a third time, selected as the number 1 Rush Tribute band in North America by Force 10 enterprises and The RushCon Organization, the only officially sanctioned Rush convention (Limelight also held this title in 2004 and from 2007-2008). For that honor, they have performed three times at the annual Rush convention in Toronto, Canada, Rush’s home town (Limelight is the only Rush tribute ever selected to perform three times). Twice at Toronto’s historic Opera House (in 2004 and 2007) and in 2009 at C’est What, also located in Toronto. Rush fans from all over the world were treated to another amazing performance by Limelight. Some of the four-hour performance in 2007 as well as an interview with Limelight was filmed by Banger Productions and producer/directors Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn, who recently released the $1.5 million feature film “Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage”. The 2009 performance also drew rave reviews from Michael Mosbach, who was a special guest speaker at RushCon 9. Mr. Mosbach has been the director of Rush’s security for 11 years and since 2002, Neil Peart’s motorcycle riding partner. Some of this years RushCon 9 performance will be included as part of Limelight’s third demo, planned for release in early 2010.
